THANK YOU AND GOODBYE FROM THE LANDFALL FARM FRESH TEAM
After a rewarding and successful 15 + years of Landfall Farm Fresh, we have made the decision to close our business and will not re-open after the Christmas and New Year break. We will be focusing our attention on our precious kids. They are all growing up so fast and we don’t want to look back with regret on this time while they are young.
The opportunity to value add to our farming business came at a time when the five of us siblings, Ed, Will, Frank, Ellie and Mimi were all young and child free. Now with a big bunch of beautiful kids and an expanded primary production business, we find family time is of the essence.
Growing up at Landfall, we learned what dedication and hard work is and understood the difficulties faced by farmers. In these more recent years, we have been exposed to the challenges faced by other sectors of the supply chain. Our respect for those selling red meat to consumers has grown significantly, and on a broader level for anyone managing the challenges of running a small business.
We thank everyone who has supported us throughout our journey and contributed to making Landfall Farm Fresh a success. From the early days of the Farmers Market and Festivale, to our retail shop and wholesale business.
There have been exciting ups and character-building downs. It has been a huge learning curve, and we feel very blessed to have been immersed in the Balfour & Charles Street community, the Launceston community, and the broader Tassie community.
To our customers – you have been a true delight, thank you. We feel very privileged to have met so many like-minded people. We are extremely grateful for how you have embraced us.
The shared learning, education, and celebration of our produce has been the pinnacle. Thank you for your tremendous loyalty towards us and our produce. We feel sad that we will not be seeing you all in the same capacity going forward.
To our wholesale customers and suppliers - who have been with us from the beginning, and those who have joined us more recently - thank you for your support and desire to support local. It has been a pleasure working with you all showcasing quality Tasmanian produce.
To our butcher and retail team - past and present, we thank you for your dedication and belief in our small business.
We couldn’t have done it without you and are forever appreciative of your hard work, commitment, and friendship. The traditional approach to butchering whole animals and dry ageing is an art and we are honoured to have shared this passion with you. We are very proud of you and wish you the best with your next adventures.
To our farm team – thank you for the long hours you work to raise healthy, happy animals within sustainable farming practices. You are a true example of the devoted work Tassie farmers do to produce world class quality food and wine.
To our mentors and industry networks - thank you for your support and guidance over the years, we greatly respect the time and wisdom we have received.
To our families – thank you for believing in our passion and for your unwavering support. As a family we have been proud to share the provenance of our produce and promote the importance of local food production.
We have many fond memories, connections, and friendships to cherish and we feel very proud to have achieved so much over the last 15 + incredible years. We understand that this decision may come as a surprise and assure you it was made with careful consideration. It has been a very special experience we have sincerely loved and will miss. From our families to yours, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts and wish you great happiness.
Best wishes,
Ellie, Frank, and Mimi with families and the Landfall Farm Fresh Team.

Experience the passion, pride and integrity of Landfall Farm Fresh
In 2008 we opened our doors, offering Northern Tasmanians a fully integrated, true paddock-to-plate experience. For many years people had been asking for our lamb and beef so we fulfilled our Grandfather’s long-held wish and opened a butcher shop delivering a transparent and trusted product range. Landfall Black Angus Beef and Landfall Prime Lamb are now readily available to the public.
At Landfall Farm Fresh we strive to create positive eating experiences and foster strong relationships with our customers. The past decade has proven to us that customers really appreciate knowing the provenance, story and integrity of what they are eating. Our home grown lamb and beef have become a favourite on the dining table of many Tasmanians and we choose to keep our product range to a minimum. We like to ensure we are offering only the best and provide gluten and preservative free produce wherever possible - making our options safer and healthier for you and your families.
The beauty of our connection with the farm means we receive our stock as whole carcases and can use the traditional methods of dry-ageing to create a flavour and tenderness that you’ll struggle to find from cryovaced, boxed meat.
We combine an understanding of dry-aged Tasmanian meat with a knowledge of both modern and traditional cooking techniques to bring you an experience like no other.
Those who shop with us are encouraged to try new, less recognised cuts to gain a greater knowledge and appreciation of what they’re eating.
Our Butchers are always in-store and happy to fulfil special orders. If you have something in mind please ask as they are always happy to work with you and love a challenge. Come in and experience the passion, pride and integrity of Landfall Farm Fresh.
